This showcase is also  part of the 5th annual event series of GtB, which is.dedicated to green earth with more green art for everyone

This exhibition showcases design projects done by the students of 3D Department (Product, Interior & Jewellery Design) of Raffles-BIFT International College, during their 2 years of studies in the advance diploma program. These design projectswere conceptualized and produced under different design studio curriculums which they have to undertake. One suchcurriculum is sustainable design, where students get the opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge byunderstanding the environmental and ecological issues that we are currently facing.
Working with materials like wood, metal, plastics & concrete, the students are challenged to design creative products whileincorporating the ideas of sustainability into their projects. Through these design projects, students have realised that onedoes not have to spend money on getting expensive materials and going through energy intensive manufacturing process toproduce simple lifestyle products. By making use of readily available materials and basic workshop tools, one is able tomake simple yet aesthetically pleasing products.
The imperfection and roughness of the details in the designs are testament of the students’ explorations in understanding the characteristics of the materials while working with the tools during the making process. Through this showcase of the students’ works, the aim is to bring about an awareness amongst the general public on the importance of sustainability issues and how creative design.

All design products will be exhibited in The Centre of We Impact for a week from 11th to 18th November with an exclusive opening event on 10th December in The Centre from 2pm to 5pm.
